How to download:
Antivirus software is absolutely required for safe computing. Proof of current antivirus software is required for network access in all campus housing areas and for wireless access. This requirement applies to all computing operating systems including Apple/Macintosh and handheld computing devices.
Cal Poly provides FREE Symantec (formerly Norton) Antivirus software to Cal Poly users. People with access to a high-speed Internet connection can download software from the My Cal Poly web portal (see below). Modem users may purchase a CD at the El Corral Bookstore for a nominal fee or may check out software at the Library.
Instructions to download and install antivirus software:

Log into: http://my.calpoly.edu

See Login Questions if you have problems.

Go to the Technology Tab.

Go to the Software Download Channel.

Choose Windows or Macintosh.

Click “Download” under the Norton-Symantec Antivirus 9.

Make sure you UNINSTALL any previously installed antivirus software.

After installing antivirus software you must frequently UPDATE your virus definition files.

Connect to the Internet.

Click on the gold shield in the system tray on your desktop.

Choose “Live Update.
