How to Connect to ITS Central File Services Mac OS X



1. From the “Finder”, select the “Go” menu item and pick “Connect to Server…”

2. From the “Connect to Server” window, select “CALPOLY_NDS_SLP”.

3. Select “CLUSTER1_SHARED_SERVER”.

4. Click the “Connect” button on the lower right of the “Connect to Server” window.


5. A window will open “Connecting to the file server ‘NWNODExx’ as:” Enter your CALPOLY_NDS Novell username and password (Your Novell username usually matches your Cal Poly username), then click the “Connect” button.

6. A window will open “Select the volumes you wish to mount.” Select “CLUSTER-SHARED” and click the “OK” button to mount the volume on your desktop.

7. The “CLUSTER-SHARED” volume will be mounted on your desktop.

8. For faster connections in the future, create an alias to the “CLUSTER-SHARED” volume by clicking on the volume and selecting “File” menu, Make Alias (zL).

9. The “CLUSTER-SHARED alias” will appear on your desktop
