Cal Poly's My Files allows access to campus drives from off campus through a Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer browsers. Any department share drives you have access to on Cal Poly computers are also available on My Files.
By default, My Files will display a web page or, if it's a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone, will show a mobile version of the page.
Some of the suggested uses for using My Files are:
- For lecturers, teaching assistants, and others who may be reassigned offices and/or computers at least once a year.
- For storing copies of important primary and secondary documents such as research papers, in case of incidents such as accidental loss or deletion.
Access My Files:
Open your web browser and visit https://myfiles.calpoly.edu.
A dialog box appears on the screen. Enter your Cal Poly username and password in the appropriate fields and click on the "Sign In" button.
You should now see a new web page called My Files. This is your virtual storage space. Take note of the folder called "Home Drive," which is also the U: drive on on-campus computers.
You can drag and drop files onto your network drives from MyFiles by dragging and dropping from your desktop.
You can also upload files using the Upload button in the top toolbar.
