Outlook Desktop or Stale Request Error

If you are unable to login into the Outlook desktop client or receive a stale request message, use the following steps to resolve the issue.

HTTP Status 500

  1. Quit the Outlook desktop client.

  2. Open the desktop version of Word and click on Sign Out.


  3. Sign into Word and click Next, then log into the My Cal Poly portal.




  4. Restart the Outlook desktop client.

If the above fix doesn't work, we recommend removing your Office application certificates and stored passwords in Keychain Access, then rebooting your device. 

As a backup option, the Outlook web client can be accessed via the
 My Cal Poly portal > My Apps > Email & Calendar.
